Matthew Merritt-Harrison, Managing Partner

Matthew’s experience in the catering industry spans more than forty years. After graduating from the University of Surrey in Hotel and Catering Administration, he held senior management roles in both operations and business development for a number of major catering contractors. During this time, he set up a fine dining division in London for a multinational caterer.

Since becoming an independent consultant in 1995, Matthew has managed an extensive range of consultancy projects throughout the UK and in Europe, encompassing catering, cleaning, retail and other soft FM services. He also gained an MSc in International Hospitality Design and Management Consultancy.

Matthew is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and former chair of its audit committee. He is a professional member, treasurer and past chair of the Foodservice Consultants Society International (UK & Ireland). Matthew also holds membership of both the Hospital Caterers Association and the British Institute of Cleaning Science.

Anne Merritt-Harrison, Partner

Anne has been a consultancy partner for nearly thirty years and is responsible for the administration of all our projects and the quality assurance of all documentation produced. Her role also includes responding to enquiries and providing quotations for work, management of financial systems and support, and sourcing of services and equipment.

A language graduate, Anne has undertaken translation of documents for our European projects and her previous experience encompasses human resources, recruitment, retail management and administration.

Christine Puttick, Senior Consultant

A graduate of the University of Surrey, Christine’s professional career began with the largest local authority in the UK. Later, she established thriving retail sales outlets for two major charities and subsequently worked for one of the largest high street retailers, where she was responsible for building the highest turnover to date for the retail catering operation. Under her management, it was recognised as a ‘centre of excellence’ and became a training site for the group’s under-performing operations.

Christine has undertaken a wide range of consultancy projects with Merritt-Harrison over the past sixteen years and her particular strengths are operational reviews, quality monitoring, training and tender evaluation. She is a professional member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International, a member of the Institute of Hospitality and a personal licence holder.  Christine holds the Level 4 Award in Food Safety for Catering.

Stephen Merritt-Harrison, Consultant

After graduating from the University of Leicester, Stephen worked on a graduate volunteer programme for an international charity, specialising in student mentoring and support.  He has also had operational experience in retail catering and sales.

Since joining the consultancy seven years ago, Stephen has supported reviews and tender exercises for staff, education, healthcare and residential catering services.  He has also undertaken monitoring, mystery shopper visits and consultation with customers.

Stephen is a senior associate member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International and an associate member of the Institute of Hospitality.  He holds the Level 3 Award in Food Safety for Catering, with Distinction.

Pam Cribbin, Administration Assistant

Pam has been part of the consultancy’s administration team for over twenty years. Her role includes production and quality control of consultancy documentation, management of catering reference material and databases, and sales support.

Pam is a language graduate and qualified Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages, and holds an MA with Distinction in this subject. With previous business and industry experience in Europe, she has assisted with the translation of documents for our European projects.
